about us

We owe this all to Mark, our freshman orientation leader.

July 2014: We met at our freshman orientation to The Ohio State University. As a pack of awkwardly quiet incoming freshman, Mark (our fearless leader) prompted us to start a conversation with the person next to us. Hey I'm Sheridan, hey I'm Angelia. What kind of music do you like? Boom. The rest is history (kind of).

August 2014: Classes begin. What do you know? We have Comm 1101 together. After several brief conversations about music, why we chose to pursue journalism and what we want to do with it, it was clear that we must combine forces and share our passions with the world.

September 2014: The Native Soundwaves is born. Our goals here are simple: to share our love for music with whoever wants to listen and to not be anyone but ourselves. It may get a little crazy, a little intense, and little emotional, but that's how we like it.

Thanks for visiting! We hope you enjoy your stay. Just remember, when they tell you to turn down your music, play it a little louder.
